Hello from your animal friends at Adopt-A-Pet in Victoria, Texas. We are glad you stopped by.

Our Mission

Rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving homes for homeless animals. Our animals are predominately rescued from the Victoria City/County Animal Control Facility.

Our Spay/Neuter Clinic

picture of kittensProvided as part of our ongoing efforts to reduce the number of unwanted puppies and kittens born. Through this service, we spay or neuter more than 1300 dogs and cats each year from Victoria and the surrounding communities. There is NO income or residency requirement.  This has resulted in a significant decrease in the number of animals euthanized at our local animal control facilities.

Our Well Pet Clinic

Is offered to encourage responsible pet ownership, including caring for the health and welfare of pet dogs and cats. The low-cost vaccinations, deworming, heartworm preventative, and flea control products available to the general public allow all pet owners to obtain these necessary veterinary services.  There is no income or residency requirement.

Ilene Today - 9/30/14

Ilene is doing great! This sweet baby finally got to move to the dog room yesterday, and is now available for adoption. She'll need some working on being crate-trained, but she gets along well with all people and other dogs. She will NOT do well in a home with cats. If you are interested in this sweetheart, please come by the shelter, or call and talk to a manager today.

Thanks! And again - thank you to everyone who donated, made well wishes, and helped spread the word about Ilene's surgery. The love we received for this cutie was overwhelming.

Ilene was found Wednesday, September 10, 2014, left in a dumpster. Someone didn't mind that she would die from heat and dehydration, or worse be crushed and face a nasty death. Adopt-A-Pet received a call from Animal Control that they had her at their facility, and we went to pick her up to provide medical care. Even with her protruding eye, her tail never stopped wagging. It is very sad to know that there are people who would do this to any living creature.

Ilene is had surgery Thursday, September 11, 2014 to remove her eye. Adopt-A-Pet is asking for monetary donations to help cover some of the costs for her surgery and her medical care to prevent against infection in the days to come. Ilene will be spayed today as well, and up for adoption in approximately two weeks, after completing her stay in our Quarantine building. Give this beautiful sweetheart a chance at a great, pain-free life!

Thank you!
