N.E.L.L. Program
(Need Extra Love with 4 Legs)

Purpose: To provide pet adoption, prevention medical care such as heartworm preventive, flea preventive and spay/neutering services to elderly citizens in need.

Proposal: Through the generous funding of a local Victoria resident, elderly citizens in need will be able to adopt loving pet companions, spay/neuter animal companions they may already have and/or maintain a healthy animal companion through the regular use of preventative medicines such as heartworm and flea medications.

Someone in need of this program can contact Adopt-A-Pet for an application. This application process will be brief, but based on need as well as ability to maintain daily care for the animal. If arrangements have been made, the preventive medication can be delivered to the pet owner. Arrangements can be made to provide a delivery service for animals that are to be altered.

This program is a means to provide loving companionship for pets as well as people, while allowing those in need to have regular preventive care for their pet.

Funding: Funding will vary month to month based upon the number of adoptions, preventive medical care as well as any spay/neutering services that are provided to already owned animal companions. A monthly statement will be mailed to demonstrate success of the program as well as program costs.

Contact Person: Adopt-A-Pet can be contacted for an application to the N.E.L.L. program and mailed to the shelter in care of Carol Klages. An applicant can expect a reply regarding the application within 10-14 business days.
